No other family app has Handover Mode. A calm, structured summary that travels between households before every transition — medications, moods, packed items, upcoming events. No frantic texts. No door-step arguments.

What Handover Mode Does
Everything the other household needs — shared before they arrive at the door.
Instead of a string of last-minute texts, Handover Mode creates a structured summary that's ready before every transition. The receiving parent knows exactly what to expect before the kids walk through the door.

Everything Handover Mode Covers
Every detail that matters — in one place, before every handover.

Medications & health
Current medications, recent illnesses, health notes, and anything the receiving household needs to know about a child's wellbeing. Shared automatically, every handover.
😊
Child mood & status
A quick check-in on each child's mood, energy, and current state. The receiving parent walks in prepared — not blind.
🎒
Packing checklist
A running list of what's packed and what to look for. No more "where's the school bag" or "we forgot the sports uniform."
📋
Upcoming events
What's coming up during their stay — school events, appointments, activities, deadlines. Both parents are informed before the handover, not after.
🔄
Change requests
Need to swap a handover time or adjust the week? Submit a request in-app. Accept, decline, or discuss — in writing, with a clear record.

Calm communication
Every co-parent message is scanned before it's sent. Severely harmful content is blocked entirely. For anything that might escalate, AI offers a calmer rewrite — you choose whether to send it or keep your own words.

One App. Two Households. Clear Boundaries.
Handover Mode shares what the other household needs. Nothing more.
The children's information travels between households. Your household's private life doesn't. Your co-parent sees the handover summary — not your budget, your shopping list, your calendar events, or anything else happening in your home.

Questions about Handover Mode
Does the other parent need a Verlae account?
To add their own notes to the handover summary, yes — they can join your family account at no extra cost. But if they're not ready to use the app, you can share the handover summary as a link or PDF externally. You still get full value from Verlae even if the other parent never signs up.
Is Handover Mode available in any other app?
No. Handover Mode is exclusive to Verlae. OurFamilyWizard has a message log and expense tracker, but no dedicated handover briefing system. Google Calendar has no co-parenting features at all. Verlae is the only app that specifically addresses what happens at the transition point between households.
Can handover summaries be used as legal records?
Handover summaries are timestamped and documented in the app. They create a clear, dated record of what was communicated and when. While Verlae is not a legal documentation service, many co-parents find this record useful in legal or mediation contexts.
How far in advance can I prepare a handover summary?
You can prepare and send a handover summary whenever you're ready — the day before, the morning of, or right at pickup. You can also set recurring reminders so you never forget to prepare one before a transition.
What if our handover is unstructured — pickups happen at different times?
Handover Mode is flexible. There's no fixed schedule required. You can use it for regular transitions, irregular pickups, or one-off arrangements. The app works around your custody arrangement — not the other way around.
No other family app has this. No other app was built for this moment.
